The blade is 5“ long (13cm) and it is 1.9mm thick at its thickest point - which makes it a thin blade. It is made from Japanese Vanadium steel, which is immensely strong even though it is so thin.
The handle is made from Australian Jamwood, called Gimjee by the local Aboriginal people. It has a creamy yellow layer at the top of the handle and it is darker lower down. I collected the wood when I was travelling in the north of Western Australia (Carnarvon).
The bolster is made from olive wood taken from where I used to live in Andalusia.
