San Mai Large Utility / Small Carving Knife with Curly Mango Handle

$350.00

This is a San Mai knife with a Curly Mango and ironwood handle. It does not fit any standard design, so if pushed I would say it is a large utility knife or a small-ish carving knife

It has some 37 layers of steel. As the patina on the blade develops over time the patterns in the steel will become more distinct, making it even more interesting and characterful as time passes.

This beautiful knife has a thick blade and is probably best suited to cutting cooked meat. It is not going to give you joy if you use it for fine-work unless your knife-skills are exceptional.

The blade is just over 6“ long, about 160mm, and 3.2mm thick at its thickest point.

The ironwood comes from the pulpit of a de-sanctified church, so hopefully your food preparation will be blessed with this knife.

The price includes delivery by courier to North America, EU countries and Australia. UK delivery is by Royal Mail. Your knife will be despatched from England.
